The Freedom in Christ Course is a Bible-based discipleship course designed to help every Christian break free from what is holding them back and become who they are made to be in Christ. It is for every Christ follower—from those who have been believers for a long time to those who are brand-new. Unlike many Christian discipleship courses, the focus is not on how you behave, but on what you believe.
The course is geared toward Christian leaders, is led by trained FICM staff or volunteers and runs for 11 weeks. Each participant will be given the opportunity to have a personal Freedom Appointment to work through The Steps to Freedom in Christ, a gentle prayer and repentance process. Participants will be expected to complete the weekly lesson and attend each weekly Zoom meeting to discuss what they have learned. Additional materials include Dr. Neil T. Anderson’s Who I Am in Christ devotional and the supplemental 4 mini-book Discipleship Series by Steve Goss: Free to Be Yourself, Win The Daily Battle, Break Free Stay Free, and The You God Planned.
Some areas covered include:
- The reality of what it means to be “in Christ”
- The spiritual battle as one of truth vs. deception
- How to resolve the effects of deep issues from the past
- How to deal with repeating patterns of sin
- Dealing with your emotions
- Understanding what God’s purpose is for your life
